Are groups needed for particular language pairs, inside our network?

Members of the present group include almost 100 translators, yet there is little discussion here of translation as a profession, or of opportunities or requests for translation work.

There are already many professional associations, and specialised translation networks, where translators can talk to each other.

Here at the Research Cooperative, our niche and our focus is academic and scientific translation, but perhaps there also needs to be a focus on particular language pairs.

For example, we could set up groups for some of the most common language pairs represented among our members, and then gradually add further groups as our membership grows.

Does this seem like a useful idea?
