Today I created a Volunteering Focus Group for the Research Cooperative. To help develop, moderate and promote this group, I am seeking a volunteer moderator to join the group here.
Please contact me directly to ask for further details.
Of course, any member of the Research Cooperative is invited to join this group to introduce new topics for discussion, contribute to discussion threads that have been started by others, and participate in development and promotion of the group.
Thanks,
Peter (Admin., Kyoto)

Dear MaryJ,
Thanks very much! Your Italian translation of our welcome message is now posted here .
Best regards, Peter (Admin., Kyoto).
Thanks... the journal you are aiming for looks good, and is published by an open access publisher with long experience (see "About MDPI" below)
I hope we can find someone to help you in our network.
Is your paper a single-authored or co-authored paper? Please keep any co-authors informed about the editing process.
If you have not yet submitted, it means you do not have a "proof" from the publisher, and your request is really for pre-submission editing. That's OK. Our network is aimed at helping with all stages of the writing and publishing process.
A pioneer in scholarly open access publishing, MDPI has supported academic communities since 1996. Based in Basel, Switzerland, MDPI has the mission to foster open scientific exchange in all forms, across all disciplines. Our 202 diverse, peer-reviewed, open access journals are supported by over 35,500 academic editors. We serve scholars from around the world to ensure the latest research is freely available and all content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY) .
Please say more about your request!
e.g. Has a draft already been written? What kind of article is planned (journal article, paper for an oral presentation, etc.)? How soon do you need a proofreader? Are you hoping to find a volunteer, or can you pay for full professional editing? Do you already have a target publisher?
If you are looking for volunteer help, can you offer volunteer help in return?
With such information, others can decide how to respond to your request.
Thanks for using this forum.
A link to the application form here is now also displayed on the top page of the Course profile, in the About section text.
The Research Cooperative hopes that participants in the course will begin exploring this social network to learn about its potentials and limitations. The network is just one example of an enormous number of websites that provide opportunities for scientific networking, study, and communication.
Learning how to communicate and collaborate through the Research Cooperative website may be a good starting point for comparing the potentials and limitations of other online services.
As far as time permits, during and after the course, please explore our website and network, and consider how the Research Cooperative might be:
* useful for your own work in the future,
* complementary to other services available,
* redundant because of other services available,
* better than other services (in one or more ways),
* worse than other services (in one or more ways).
* significant for other reasons.
(These are not mutually exclusive alternatives!)
For more information, please see the attached papers and notes. These can be downloaded and discussed with others. They introduce the history and aims of the Research Cooperative, and include one chapter from a conference on Research Writing in Japan that was held soon after our network was first established in 2001.
Dear BC,
I have added a link to your translated "welcome" on our top page:

This is great.
Thank you very much!
Muito obrigado!

Dear Caerellia65,
Thanks very much for composing this offer for our members.
As founder of the network, I would like to say that this is the kind of offer that I hope many editors can make - in order to satisfy their own interests, and to more effectively find new customers.
Sincerely, Peter (Admin., Kyoto)

I learned from a Malaysian research article yesterday that stingless bees are very effective pollinators for cucumbers, and that commercial growers are experimenting with using stingless bees to pollinate various crops.
