Bill Gammage (2011) The Biggest Estate on Earth: How Aborigines Made Australia. Allen & Unwin.
He makes good use of many different sources, including early European paintings of Australian landscapes.
In 2012 the book won the Victorian Prize for Literature and the Prime Minister's Literary Award for Australian History.
