Research Cooperative Review (Issue 5, 10th May 2010)
Hello people all over the world.... (Research Co-op members).
1. Last month we had a big rise in member numbers, and this made it important for me to improve various aspects of presentation of our site. I also added a range of working groups to focus on research communication in particular subjects, and language services. Suggestions for further groups, and people wishing to become volunteer moderators, are always welcome to contact me. See the following groups:
Communicating Archaeology
Ecology Communication
Express Engineering
Health and Medicine
Mathematics Communication
The Chemical World
Editorsand Proofreaders
Illustrators
Translators
2. We have activated a new domain name (URL) that can now be used in preference to the old name (cooperative.ning.com) - see:
http://researchcooperative.org
3. Our host, Ning.com, formally announced on the 4th May that they will close down their free services. The new pricing system is not too bad, so I do not expect any major changes. If we are lucky, Ning will have more capital to invest in improving the service that they provide.
Let's enjoy our work...
