Dear Nsoh,
I fully agree with your sentiments! There's a nice example of local action in the town of Los Banos in the Philippines. The town placed a city wide ban on the use of plastic bags for packing customer purchases in shops (if I heard the story correctly). There are strong local traditions of making bags from Pandanus leaves (plaited), and no need for plastic bags.
Do you have and use Pandanus in Ghana?
Thanks, Peter (Admin.)
