Biographical: Bachelor's degree in Sociology (2004, Universidad del País Vasco) with the specialization “Politics and Society in the contemporary world”. Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA): “Contemporary Problems in the Information Society” (2008, Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset – Universidad Complutense de Madrid). He completed several internships related to areas of communication and education in Berlin (e.g. the culture and languages academy Sprachenatelier Berlin and the E-Learning department of the Latin American Institute at the Freie Universität Berlin). He carried out part of his DEA-research in this city under the supervision of Dr. Wolfgang Merkel, visiting the Iberoamerican Institute and the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung. He also worked in the area of social and market research at different companies in Madrid and Berlin. Now he is researching and writing his PhD at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and collaborates with different publications, writing articles and book reviews. He also figures as expert at the LiSS-COST programme, administered by the European Science Foundation. His most recent publication: Zavala Pérez, J. M. (2012).
