2. How can blogs be effectively supported and promoted through the Research Cooperative?

There are things that you the author can do, and things that any member can do:

Authors - Naming the blog after yourself is quite standard in the blogosphere. But if you have a special theme that you wish to explore over time, it can be good to have a more topical title. Also, if you are planning a series, or have any other aims in advance, it can be good to post an introduction or announcement describing (i) the plan, and (ii) yourself, and (iii) how you would like articles in your blog to be used and referred to - i.e. your copyright and publishing details).

Then you can grab the URL for the introduction post from the browser window, and use it as a link for a piece of text (e.g. "About this blog", or "About my blog") which can be copied into the top or bottom of every message you send, inside and outside the Research Cooperative, and in the signature to your standard email. You can also introduce yourself and your blog in our group for  Research Co-op Bloggers.

All members can   help by telling others about Research Co-op blogs of special interest for people in your own personal network, inside and beyond the Research Cooperative.

3.  Legal notes

Copyright for the content of your blog belongs to you (unless obtained from third parties), but the Cooperative reserves the right to remove unsuitable postings, for any reason, or by popular demand, after attempting to contact the blog owner.

If you value the content of your blog, please keep your own personal copy of posts on your own computer or backup system.

Third parties who believe their work is being unfairly used anywhere within the Research Cooperative are encouraged to contact the Cooperative (see contact details on the Main page).
