Biographical: Professor Dariusz J. Skarzynski, DVM, Ph.D,, Dr.Sci. (1963), Head of Department of Reproductive Immunology and Pathology, Scientific Director of the Institute of Animal reproduction and Food Research of PAS, Olsztyn, Poland Expertise & current research: Endocrinology and immunology of reproduction in domestic animals: immuno-endocrine, cellular and molecular regulations of the release and action of cytokines and arachidonic acid metabolites in the female reproductive tract; Author and co-author 3 scientific books and 102 scientific papers. Current research: (1) Regulation of angiogenesis and apoptosis in the reproductive tract of mares and cows during the estrous cycle, (2) Roles of lysophoshatidic acid and glucocorticoids in the mechanisms controlling embryo-maternal interactions, (2) Roles of leukotrienes in the regulation of estrous cycle and early pregnancy, (3) Experimental models for the study of immuno-endocrine relationships in the feline uterus.
