Hello, David! Thank you for the welcoming. I've been to Park Slope several times--one of my favorite areas in New York.

Yep. I'm not not an experienced illustrator or a professional, but I would like to offer help to anyone that needs it.

Hello David, thank you very much for your message. Look forward to connecting further with you in this group. I am in the early stages of putting together a website for the photographic documentary work I am doing in Africa. Best wishes, Karren

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply! I understand your point of view. I hadn't realized the changes I thought I made to my profile earlier in the day had not actually gone through until I got your message, so I'm happy to have the chance to correct it. I'm glad you like my watercolors. I'm currently experimenting with Corel Painter and a Wacom tablet. I look forward to learning from you and others here!

Take care,

-- Lois

Hi David,

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate what you are saying about medical illustration. In fact, I didn't mean to say that I am currently a medical illustrator, and I thought I removed that from my profile (I will double-check after sending this post). I had previously called myself a "learner" on this site along with an interest in medical illustration becauseI was recently contemplating this as a future career and wanted to find out what I needed to learn. I've also been in contact with other medical illustrators who have had extensive training. I totally understand the training required and that a medical illustrator must take the exact same courses as doctors. That makes sense to me.

I have recently decided that medical illustration is not my highest interest and have concentrated instead on other types of illustration. I'm nearly finished with my studies at the SMFA in Boston and plan to receive my Illustration Certificate next spring. I need to update my profile and portfolio with recent work.

Thanks again for taking the time to write! I hope you feel that we are in agreement.
